Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

What types of organisations do you work with?

Accepted Answer

We work with organisations of all sizes across the public, private, and third sectors. Our clients range from growing SMEs to single site, single country and global organisations across multiple sectors plus local and central government departments. What they share is a genuine need or commitment to delivering change and improvement.

Question 2

How do engagements typically begin?

Accepted Answer

Every engagement starts with a conversation. We take time to understand your situation, your goals, and your constraints before proposing anything. We do not believe in off-the-shelf solutions — our approach is always tailored to your specific context.

Question 3

How long does a typical engagement last?

Accepted Answer

It depends entirely on the scope and complexity of the work. Some engagements are focused and short-term — a diagnostic or a specific project lasting a few weeks. Others are longer-term partnerships spanning months or years. We will always be clear about timelines upfront.

Question 4

Do you work on-site or remotely?

Accepted Answer

We are flexible. Many of our engagements involve a blend of on-site presence and remote working. We believe that being physically present at key moments — particularly during workshops, leadership sessions, and critical milestones — makes a real difference.

Question 5

What makes your approach different?

Accepted Answer

We are practitioners, not theorists. We have held senior roles inside organisations ourselves, which means we understand the realities of implementation — the politics, the constraints, the human dynamics. We bring that lived experience to every engagement.

Question 6

Do you use proprietary frameworks or methodologies?

Accepted Answer

We draw on a range of established frameworks and methodologies, but we never apply them rigidly. Our approach is always adapted to what will work best in your specific context. The goal is always practical impact, not methodological purity.

Question 7

How do you measure success?

Accepted Answer

We agree clear outcomes and success measures at the outset of every engagement. Success is defined and measured by you; our role is to help get you there. Success is not always tied to tangible business results but having targets will help drive the change needed.

Question 8

How are your fees structured?

Accepted Answer

Our fees vary depending on the nature and scope of the work. Engagements vary from fractional consultancy on an hourly or daily basis right through to specific assignment or project based agreements. We also offer retainer arrangements for ongoing advisory relationships. We are always transparent about costs and will provide a clear proposal before any work begins.

Question 9

Can you work within a fixed budget?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We understand that budgets are real constraints, and we will always work with you to scope an engagement that delivers maximum value within your means. If we cannot do the work justice within your budget, we will tell you honestly.

Question 10

Do you offer a free initial consultation?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we are always happy to have an initial conversation at no charge. This gives us both the opportunity to understand whether there is a good fit before committing to anything further.
